MS Office class 4 (text selection methods) in simple ways

TEXT SELECTION:



Any thing (Alphabets, Numbers, Alphanumeric) we enter from keyboard is called Text, and before changing text size, colors, styles, placement, spacing, before underlining a text, before assigning and removing text outside borders, before deleting a text, before copying a text, and before changing text capitalization, we must select a text. So for selecting a specific text steps are as under:


1.Selecting a Single Word: -

Double Click anywhere on the desired word to select a single word.


2.Selecting Multiple Adjacent Word:

We can select more than one words consecutively form the current document with these steps:



• Double Click anywhere on the Starting desired word >> Hold down Shift key from keyboard >> Single Click anywhere on the Last desired word.


3. Selecting Multiple Non-Adjacent Word:

We can select more than one words non consecutively form the current document with these steps:


• Double Click anywhere on the Starting desired Word >> Hold down Ctrl key from keyboard >> Double Click anywhere on the other desired Words from the document.


4. Selecting A Single Paragraph:-

To select a single paragraph from the current document, take the following steps:


• Triple Click anywhere inside the desired Paragraph.


5. Selecting Multiple Adjacent Paragraph:-

We can select more than one paragraphs consecutively form the current document with these steps:

• Triple Click anywhere inside the Starting desired Paragraph >> Hold down Shift key from keyboard >> Single Click anywhere inside the Last desired Paragraph.


6. Selecting Multiple Non-Adjacent Paragraph:-

We can select more than one paragraphs non consecutively form the current document with these steps:


• Triple Click anywhere inside the Starting desired Paragraph >> Hold down Ctrl key from keyboard > Triple Click anywhere on the other desired Paragraphs from the document.

7. Selecting A Single Sentence:-

To select a single sentence from the desired paragraph, take the following steps:


• Hold down Ctrl and Click Once anywhere on the desired Sentence.

8. Selecting Multiple Adjacent or Non-Adjacent Sentences:-

We can select more than one sentences consecutively or non-consecutively from the current document with these steps:


• Select the desired first Sentence >> Hold down Ctrl key from Keyboard > Select other desired Sentences from the current document with Mouse Dragging technique.

9. Shift + Cursor-Arrow-Keys:

We can also select a part of text or full text from the current document by Hold-down Shift key and pressing any of the Cursor Arrow key from Keyboard.


10. Mouse Dragging / Drag:

We can also select a part or full text from the current document by Hold down Mouse Left button and moving the mouse over the desired text.

11. Shift + Home:

Hold down Shift key and Press Home key to select text to the start of current line from the current cursor position.


12. Shift + End:

Hold down Shift key and Press End key to select text to the end of current line from the current cursor position.


13. Shift + Ctrl + Home Keys:

Hold down Shift & Ctrl keys and Press Home key to select all text from the current cursor position to the start of current document.


14. Shift + Ctrl + End Keys:

Hold down Shift & Ctrl keys and Press End key to select all text from the current cursor position to the end of current document.


15. Alt + Ctrl + Shift + Page Down:

These keys are used to select full window text down-ward from current cursor position.

16. Alt + Ctrl + Shift + Page Up: 
          These keys are used to select full window text up-ward from the current cursor position. 

17. Ctrl + Shift + F8 + Cursor Keys: 
          These keys are used to select and extend the desired text in vertical and horizontal block from the current document. (Press Esc key to exit) 18. Selecting Full Text: We can easily select full text from the current document by taking these steps: 

   Hold down Ctrl key and Press A from keyboard (Ctrl + A) OR o Click Home Tab from menu bar >> Click Select button from Home ribbon Editing group >> Click Select All command from the list. 


19. Remove Text Selection Range & Block: 
                         We can easily remove text selection block and range (a) Pressing any one of the Cursor Arrow keys from Keyboard OR (b) Clicking Once anywhere on the page.
