CHANGING QUICK ACCESS TOOL BAR PLACEMENT:
We can change place for Quick Access Toolbar with the following steps:
Method:
Right click on the blank Menu Bar area >> Click on the Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon Or Click on the Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon command.
ADDING A BUTTON IN QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR:
We can add a button in Quick Access Toolbar with the following steps:
Method:
Click the desired Tab from menu bar >> Right click on the desired Button and Icon from the Ribbon >> Click on the Add to Quick Access Toolbar command.
REMOVING A BUTTON FROM QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR:
We can remove a button from Quick Access Toolbar with these steps:
Method:
Right click on the desired Button from the Quick Access Toolbar >> Click on the Remove from Quick Access Toolbar command.
HIDE OR UNHIDE RULER:
We can hide or display Ruler by taking the following steps:
Method1:
Click View Tab from menu bar >> Select or Deselect Ruler check-box.
Method2:
Click on the View Ruler button from top most corner of Vertical Scroll bar.
MINIMIZING THE RIBBON:
We can minimize (hide or display) the Ribbon by taking the following steps:
Method1:
Right click on the Menu bar blank area >> Click Minimize the Ribbon command.
Method2:
Hold down Ctrl key and Press F1 key from Keyboard. (Ctrl + F1)
INSERTING & ENTERING TEXT IN A DOCUMENT:
Word is normally in the Insert mode and we can easily enter text into the document by taking these steps >>> Place the Cursor with Click or Double-Click on the page where you want to enter text >> Start typing from Keyboard.
KEYBOARD GENERAL EDITING& NAVIGATION KEYS:
The following keyboard keys can perform very important role during our typing work in MS-Word and these are very helpful for us which makes easiness in our work.
Space Bar:
The Space-Bar key is used to set one character space (gap) between words.
Enter:
BThe Enter key is used to start new line or new paragraph becouse while typing text in Ms-Word there is no need to press Enter / Return key at the end of a line. The word processor automatically moves the cursor to the next line. This is called “Word Wrapping”. So press the Enter key only when we start a new line or paragraph, and Enter key is also used to execute a command.
Caps Lock:
The Caps-Lock key is used to on or off text capital writing.
Shift:
The Shift key is used to insert special symbols in the current document like-wise (# $ % @ etc).
Backspace:
The Backspace key is used to remove a character from right to left.
Ctrl + Backspace: The Backspace key with Ctrl key is used to remove a word from right to left.
Delete:
The Delete key is used to remove a character from left side cursor position, and it is also used to remove the selected data (text and objects).
Ctrl + Delete:
The Delete key with Ctrl key is used to delete a word from left side cursor position.
Up Arrow Key:
Up-Arrow-Key of Cursor-Pad is used to move the cursor to previous line in the document.
Down Arrow Key:
The Down Arrow Key is used to move the cursor to next line in the document.
Left Arrow Key:
The Left Arrow key is used to move the cursor to previous character in the document.
Right Arrow Key:
The Right Arrow Key is used to move the cursor to next character in the document.
Ctrl + Right Arrow Key:
The Right Arrow key with Ctrl is used to move the cursor to the next word.
Ctrl + Left Arrow Key:
The Left Arrow key with Ctrl is used to move the cursor to the previous word.
Ctrl + Up Arrow Key:
The Up Arrow key with Ctrl is used to move the cursor to the previous paragraph.
Ctrl + Down Arrow Key:
The Down Arrow key with Ctrl is used to move the cursor to the next paragraph.
Home:
The Home key is used to move the cursor to the start of current line in the document.
End:
The End key is used to move the cursor to the end of current line in the document.
Ctrl + Home:
The Home key with Ctrl key is used to move the cursor to the start of current document (start of text).
Ctrl + End:
The End key with Ctrl key is used to move the cursor to the end of current document (end of text).
Ctrl + Page-Up:
The Page-Up key with Ctrl key is used to move the cursor to the previous page in current document.
Ctrl + Page-Down:
The Page-Down key with Ctrl key is used to move the cursor to the next page in current document.
Alt + Ctrl + Page Up:
These keys are used to move the cursor to the start of current screen in the document.
Alt + Ctrl + Page Down: These keys are used to move the cursor to end of current screen in the document.
F10:
This key is used to activate and deactivate the menus.
